The strip is a few days late this week. It's
been an extra busy week for me with work. I
was offered, earlier this week, the chance to
sit in and participate in several days of story
planning meetings with a client I'm working
with. Even though this client is in Japan these
meetings happened to be held here in Orlando
where I live. When I was informed that this
group would consist of a Special Effects animator,
a storyboard artist with credentials in commercial
work and the Nickelodeon Channel, and an animator
from the Disney Studios (when they used to be
here in Orlando) I took about 3 seconds to decide
that this was something I wanted to be a part
of and to rearrange my schedule around to make
it work.
It was a blast working with these guys and
observing how they make story and concept come
alive. The ideas flowed freely and humorously
and it was really special to be invited to come
in and take part. One of the perks of living
in a place like Orlando with it's connections
to Hollywood.
Today Georgia had 2 of her wisdom teeth pulled.
It took all of 2o minutes to do it. I remember
in the olden times when mine were done with
just about a half dozen shots and then a pair
of pliers and it took 90 minutes. It's much
simpler anymore, but I bet the pain's the same.
