I have a major confession... I never wanted to
do the strip. Four years ago, when we started doing
Scooter and Ferret, we came up with the strip idea
as a regularly updated advertisement for the comic
we were working on. The comic was what I was really
interested in, I had a couple of scripts written
and I thought the strip would be something forgettable
and produced on the cheap. But the artist never
does anything small, so far more effort went into
the strip than I'd ever intended. That effort was
all-consuming and the comic fell by the wayside.
I became an online strip writer in spite of myself.
But all this time and two strips later I never
enjoyed being a gagman, nor did I ever really feel
like one. There were valiant efforts and there were
tears, and at the end of the day, I finally got
the ok from not only the artist but everyone I asked
to go back to what I feel comfortable doing. The
first script is done and new installmants of that
script will be released right here, one page a week,
every Wednesday. Some people will leave, some people
will join up. Some people won't like the reduction
to one day a week, but I hope most people will enjoy
following Maridee and her friends through a complete
story. And this story will bring back a character
some people may come back to see. Welcome to Wixel
World.
Follow Scooter, Ferret and Maridee from their initial debut through their adventures with high school reunions, screwy religous groups and Macadamian Squirrels.
