Animation Nation is alive today as Disney and Pixar announce their merger. Oh, you heard Disney bought Pixar? That’s the technical term for it, but Steve Jobs is now the biggest stockholder on the board and John Lasseter is taking over the entire creative side of Disney, including imagineering. For those of us that were supporting Roy Disney during his exile from the company, for those of us that got out of animation during the lean years, for those of us that hated watching what Eisner was doing to the traditional feature company with an amazing history, this was historic.I believe we are looking ahead to an exciting era for the parks and a revival of traditional animation brought to you by the people who hold those things dear to their hearts. And what’s next for Michael Eisner, who stepped down this last year? I hear a talk show.
